Hiking and Biking

Hit the trails in the 1000 Islands! There are acres of public parkland, shoreline trails, island parks and more to to explore. Many are open year round for four seasons of recreation.

Hiking and biking trails range from easy to challenging. Most of them offer spectacular views of the region, whether it’s a short climb to the top of a lookout or a more difficult trek with a big payoff.

Canoe/Kayaking

Paddle sports are extremely popular on the St. Lawrence with its many small islands and inlets to explore!

Take a canoe or kayak adventure into the wilderness and wonders of the French Creek Wildlife Management Area (WMA), a small waterway and wildlife preserve that offers plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities. The WMA is also suitable for hikers and biking but foot travel or paddle is the primary means of movement throughout the area.

The Antique Boat Museum encourages their visitors to have an authentic St. Lawrence experience by testing out some traditional skiffs, super-lightweight canoes or more modern kayaks out on the water (included with admission).
